John and Anne Martin

Serving Kenya

John and Anne arrived in Kenya in 1998 with their children aged 9, 11, and 13.  God called them to the slums of Nairobi where they were able to reach out and minister to the needs of the street children.  The Martins have also worked with HIV positive people and are now working with drug addicts and alcoholics.  The Martin’s prayed that God would give them the people that no one else wanted and that prayer is being answered every day.

In 2008 the Martins were asked to found and direct Teen Challenge of Kenya.  The Martins have seen many miracles in the last 13 years serving in Kenya.  They say, “God is at work in Africa and it is exciting and humbling to be used by Him to share His love with drug addicts and alcoholics through Teen Challenge.  God is truly changing lives one miracle at a time.” 

The Martins agree, “Our family is not special.  We just said, ‘yes’ to God’s call.  We want to be an encouragement to others so they can also be used by God to reach their world.”

Currently, one of their biggest needs is to develop a property that has been given to Teen Challenge of Kenya to use for expansion and a women’s center.
